Randy Orton's Most Memorable Matches, Moments in WrestleMania History

No comments :
Randy Orton is one of the most ornamented WWE Superstars in the modern era. He's a nine-time WWE champion, four-time world heavyweight champion and two-time Royal Rumble winner.

His WrestleMania recommence doesn't rise to the same level, though.
The Apex Predator has made the WrestleMania card 13 times in the past 14 years. Yet his only two arrivals in the main event caused by losses, and many of his chances in recent editions have been part of lackluster storylines, including his WWE title win over The eaters of the world - Bray Wyatt in 2017.
While it's impossible to blame a superstar for the creative team's booking decisions, it's also fair to say Orton's character has become stale since his old days as the Legend Killer. So as a part of the responsibility falls on his shoulders to reinvent and reinvigorate his persona to rewrite his WrestleMania legacy.

Let's check out some of his top matches and moments at The Showcase ahead of WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans on April 8.

1.WrestleMania Debut with Evolution vs. Rock-n-Sock 2004

Orton was the ultimate top-class prospect. The grandson of late Bob Orton Sr. and son of "Cowboy" Bob Orton Jr., quickly rose up the wrestling ranks and signed with WWE in 2001 at age 21, spending some time in Ohio Valley Wrestling before getting called up to the main roster.

Orton’s initial opportunity to shine at WrestleMania potholed him together with numerous of the industry's legends in the 20th edition. He teamed up with associated Evolution members Batista and Ric Flair to take on The Rock and Mick Foley, the reuniting Rock n Sock link, in an undercard match.

Getting a chance to learn from his teammate Ric Flair and then facing off with The Rock and Foley in his first 'Mania match card the high hopes the company had for Orton. He delivered and was even given the chance to secure the win after delivering his finisher an RKO to the hardcore legend Mick Foley.

It helped to accelerate what would become a dramatic rise for the longtime fan favorite.

2. To End Undertaker's Undefeated Streak 2005

Around there has been a no better honor for a WWE Superstar over the past couple decades than receiving a chance to face the legendary Undertaker at grand stage WrestleMania. Randy Orton received that opportunity at WrestleMania 21, as part of a long-running feud with Taker. Not only was a hardcore though match, but it also received a boost to Orton because of interference from his father Bob Orton. He attempted to help his son end Undertaker's long undefeated streak, which would have provided the peak moment for the Legend Killer gimmick. While the younger Orton fell short as Undertaker moved to 13-0 at 'Mania, his dispute with the WWE legend, which included a victory at SummerSlam a couple of months later, is debatably the best work he has done in his career.

3.Faces John Cena and HHH for WWE title, 2008

Since The Viper has never succeeded in a WrestleMania main-event, his greatest achievement may have arisen at WrestleMania 24, when he overcame John Cena and Triple H to retain the WWE Championship in one of the final matches on the card. Unfortunately for Orton, a decade has passed since the marquee triumph, and he's never done anything to overcome it, at least on the WrestleMania stage. He still has time to change that, though. Not only did he keep the belt, but he was allowed to control the match for extended stretches against two of the top wrestlers at the time. It was a legitimate showcase of his great natural talent, which has always shone through even when his character development has been not that good.

4. Ends the Tag-team, The Legacy with Win over Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes, in 2 on 1 handicap match, 2010

The Legacy had its moments during its near 2 years of existence, but it is fair to wonder whether the faction lived up to its potential given the upside of Orton, Ted DiBiase Jr., and Cody Rhodes. They all 3 were generation stars from wrestling families, but the group never seemed to reach an all-time high level.

Their match at WrestleMania 26 showed what they were capable of for at least that one night.

The script which surrounded Ted aCodyody working together to take out Randy Orton before predictably turning on each other to make it a Triple Threat match, leading Orton to punt out both of them and winning it.

5. Win against Bray Wyatt to win the championship title, 2017

During Wrestlemania 33 held at ORLANDO. The Apex predator- Randy Orton delivered a powerful RKO to his former Wyatt Family member Bray Wyatt, striking down The eater of the world at The End to win the WWE title.

The Viper and Wyatt's dramatic rivalry have been one of the most different and personal conflicts in recent memory.

Add the truth that these two feared wrestlers were battling for SmackDown LIVE’s most prized possession, and it’s not surprising that their clash at WrestleMania 33 was such a recorded one.
